If your child recieves a 12/14 or better on his/her pretest, s/he will work on this list.

Spelling List 1
The purpose of spelling lists is not only to learn how to spell a particular word, but how to recognize spelling patterns so that one is able to spell an unfamiliar word. This week, we will be working on vowels in final syllables.
Monday Spelling List 1 Homework
Each student will recieve a 4 page package for the week's spelling homework. All activities must be done in cursive (unless otherwise stated). Monday, students must complete the first page of the packet.
Spelling homework should be completed daily, but the List 1 packet will be turned in all together before the test.
Thursday Spelling Challenge Homework
Write 7 sentences in cursive. Use one of the remaining spelling words (words not used for Wednesday's homework) in each sentence. Each sentence must somehow show the meaning on the spelling words used in it.
Study for spelling test.

Wednesday Spelling Challenge Homework

Daily Reading
Each student must read for at least 20 minutes per day. Please help your child by timing him/her. This reading can be in any genre or media (books, magazines, comics, etc.).
